With all the media advertising for almonds being such a great food, many are wondering are almonds good for you? Well, the short answer is a very resounding yes, but exactly why are these wonderful little nuts good for your body?
First and foremost, one serving of almonds contains over half of your recommended daily biotin. What, biotin? What the heck is biotin? Well, biotin is a B vitamin, sometimes called Vitamin H that is seldom mentioned but plays a very important role in your health.
Biotin supports many body systems and helps with your skin, nerve transmission, digestive health, metabolism, and cellular health. It also plays a key role in helping to stabilize blood glucose levels, and helps you to have healthier hair and nail growth.
What this means for you is that almonds can literally help you to have shinier hair, stronger nails, and help to regulate your blood glucose which will result in fewer hunger cravings and even possibly aid in weight loss. Well, they’re both essential for a healthy heart, and they help to lower your blood pressure through aiding relaxation in your veins and arteries.
